ABOUT TILMAN LIEBCHEN

Tilman Liebchen currently works as a consultant for VDI/VDE-IT in Berlin. Selected ongoing projects- Gründungswettbewerb - Digitale Innovationen (competition management)- Junge Innovatoren Baden-Württemberg (project leader)- Begleitforschungen Smarte Datenwirtschaft & KI-Innovationswettbewerb Tilman received his diploma degree in electrical engineering from Technical University of Berlin (TUB) in 1998. In he joined the Telecommunications Group of Professor Peter Noll at TUB as a teaching assistant, with research activities in the field of lossless audio coding. From 2002 to 2006, he worked at TUB as a teaching and research assistant in the Communication Systems Group of Professor Thomas Sikora. Since 2002, he has actively participated in the standardization activities of the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG), where he particularly contributed to the MPEG-4 Audio Lossless Coding (ALS) standard. He is the author of several publications on lossless audio coding in general and MPEG-4 ALS in particular. In 2006, he joined LG Electronics, where he was responsible for the support of multimedia related standardization activities and corresponding projects. Since 2010 he works as a consultant for VDI/VDE-IT in Berlin where he is concerned with the assessment and promotion of new technologies and the funding of corresponding innovative research projects, networks and start-ups. Among other things, he is currently the project leader of the \"Junge Innovatoren\" funding programme and responsible for the \"Gründungswettbewerb\" start-up competition.
