ABOUT TILLY GRAY
I am a lawyer and legal operations professional (with 20+ years experience). My joy is \"sparked\" by effecting positive change, for both people and organizations.I am also an experienced project manager with complimentary training in Legal Lean Sigma and Project Management and professional organization. I frequently engage with stakeholders at all levels and lead effective teams; however, I am equally comfortable “rolling up my sleeves” to work as part of a team. Change is hard, but through the application of change management methodologies, perseverance, and my strong communication and relationship-building skills, I manage transitions thoughtfully to ensure sustained success.I am passionate about supporting others. I was an inaugural member of the Women’s Practice Development Committee at a national firm, am an award-winning mentor for my work with students and other young legal professionals and am actively involved in mental health initiatives within my larger community.I frequently consult, present, and author resources on topics such as process improvement, legal service delivery, knowledge and change management, innovation, and legal technology and have taught as a sessional professor at Queen\'s University, Faculty of Law.Currently, I am responsible for establishing the legal operations function within an exceptional in-house legal division of an incredible organization. Formerly, I led a business division of national firm that I co-founded which was dedicated to continually seeking to improve both the quality and timeliness of its legal advice and related services, including through the assessment, pilot, and implementation of specialized staffing models, streamlined workflows, and market-leading technologies. Before that, I was that firm’s Director of Practice Excellence – Practice Support (Knowledge Management), responsible for enhancing the culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration among the firm’s members, including through architecting intuitive systems of access, the adoption of tools and improved processes, the development of related resources, and the provision of training and ongoing support. Before becoming a partner and member of senior management at that firm, I was a senior associate in the Financial Services Group. My practice focused on general corporate, reorganization, and finance matters (including cross-border financing, unsecured/secured lending, syndicated loans, and project finance).
