I started with a team of three and expanded it to eight, overseeing HR, recruitment, contracts and compliance, IT, facilities, legal/insurance, security, and ethics functions supporting $160M in U.S. government contracts. I also strengthened project oversight to better identify and mitigate risks. My focus was on building scalable systems and core functions that could sustain rapid growth while simultaneously planning and executing the integration of all business operations into University Research Company during IBI’s acquisition. My accomplishments in this role include: Introduced KPIs and issue-tracking protocols that improved visibility into a $160M portfolio and accelerated resolution of high-risk project issues. Modernized compensation and benefits to match market norms, leading to stronger retention and successful onboarding of 21 new staff in 12 months. Led due diligence responses and integration planning during IBI’s acquisition by URC, co-creating integration action plans across 10 corporate functions. Prepared executive messaging, facilitated leadership and staff meetings, and managed organization-wide updates to ensure clear communication. Negotiated healthcare and office lease savings that reduced organizational costs by more than $500K.
