I founded Black Girls Golf after spending 10 years in Corporate America and noticing how many opportunities were available to women who played golf. As I became a more experienced golfer, I noticed how few African American women were involved in the sport. “According to the latest Census figures, African-Americans comprise 12.6 percent of the population, yet the 1.4 million who golf make up only 5.5 percent of nation’s 25.7 million who regularly participate in the sport.” (Palm Beach Post). Further, African American women make up less than 1% of the industry\'s workforce. Black Girls Golf is the largest golf network for African American women and girls, with more than members in 35 states and 10 countries.
