Tiffany is an award-winning chief of staff and thorough, results-driven leader with expertise in policy, communications, education, and advancing civil rights and social justice causes. As an accomplished message strategist, Tiffany is adept at communicating complex information to expert and general audiences alike, and is an experienced storyteller and Cabinet-level speechwriter, serving four U.S. Secretaries of Education across three presidential administrations. A versatile professional with 20 years of experience in federal and state governments, nonprofits, and schools, Tiffany also is a nationally recognized manager of projects and teams. Tiffany most recently led executive communications for the President and CEO of United Way Worldwide-the largest privately funded nonprofit organization in the world. In this role, Tiffany drove executive priorities through disciplined planning, cross-functional coordination, and high-level stakeholder engagement. Prior to this work, Tiffany served at the U.S. Department of Education, leading a team of talented writers, editors, and communications professionals as Director of Speechwriting and Editorial Content for the U.S. Secretary of Education. Tiffany earned a national award for excellence in communications in this role and transformed the agency\'s speechwriting, editorial, internal communications, and translations divisions. As Senior Adviser to the President and CEO at The Education Trust, Tiffany utilized extensive experience in policy and management to provide strategic counsel to The Education Trust’s CEO and to drive the organization’s work in the civil rights and social justice spaces.As Chief of Staff for Communications Development at the U.S. Department of Education, Tiffany managed the Department’s outreach and engagement efforts across platforms, with oversight over the speechwriting, web, photo/video, and social media teams. Prior to working at the Department, Tiffany was a site director for a Washington-D.C-based community nonprofit and taught high school in Baltimore, M.D. Tiffany received her master’s degree in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a bachelor’s degree in English and certification in secondary education from Connecticut College.
