ABOUT TIFFANY CHUA

I am an economic development specialist at the Government of Alberta. As a Queen’s University MBA graduate, I have a background in strategy and policy development, stakeholder engagement and project management. I have an MA in Asian Policy (trade and investment focus) from the University of British Columbia and having lived in four countries including Canada, the Philippines, China and Taiwan, I consider myself a global citizen. I speak six languages – English, Mandarin, Filipino, Taiwanese/Hokkien, some Spanish and some French. My career has been defined by my role as a knowledge provider, whether it is providing advice to senior executives, conducting research and analysis, addressing specific business challenges, or disseminating information. Prior to pursuing my MBA, I managed and wrote multi-million dollar-project proposals and consulting reports submitted to Canada\'s Ministries of Innovation, Science and Economic Development; Transportation; and Global Affairs to shape policy-making. One highlight of my career was securing a CAD$2.5 million contract from the Ministry of Global Affairs to support innovation and entrepreneurship in emerging Asian economies.I have worked with varied clients including senior leaders in Canadian and multinational corporations, government agencies, international organizations, universities and not-for-profit organizations. I have the experience of building my own clientele, which included organizations such as the Asian Development Bank, Philippine Department of Energy, etc.In my free time, I enjoy floral arrangement, calligraphy, playing the Chinese zither, skating, singing and listening to Broadway music.
