I joined the network shortly after the transition to a newly elected administration, leveraging my prior experience and contacts to bring a diverse perspective and voice to the conversation. Initially I was tasked with pitching stories and ideas to produce the guest segment of a daily hour-long talk show covering political issues and headlines.In 2020, the network expanded its scope of coverage of current happenings in the political environment with the goal of capturing new viewers. I performed a key role in developing what came to be known as the “ReidOut with Joy Reid,” from the ground up, and continued to contribute to production of the program for the five seasons it was broadcast. NOTABLE CONTRIBUTIONS Helped plan and produce a one-hour special coverage of 2020 summer of protest that became precursor for launch of “The ReidOut” Regularly produced \"The ReidOut’s A-block segment, which included pitching ideas, consulting with booking producers, senior producers and hosts on selecting guests, and conducting/sharing research of guest perspectives with host to set tone and flow of the segment. Made measurable contributions to “The ReidOut” attainment of 2024 Emmy nomination in News & Documentary category for Outstanding Breaking News Coverage as well as 2021 and 2024 NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding News/Information Series or Special. Served as lead segment producer for \"Hardball with Chris Matthews\" off-year election coverage, extensively researching candidates and rapidly changing/evolving stories to suggest best guest voices to spotlight. Pitched concept for including introductory clip of popular political analyst in election coverage which was so well received the network repurposed it for a promotional video.
