About Tiffany Gomez

Education is our universal equalizer and the civil rights movement of our generation—it’s the one thing no one can take away from you. I have made my career in education at a charter management organization in their operations as a recruiter and as an educator and leader in a school. As a recruiter, I helped new and career-changing educators and operations professional find a home in one of our charter schools. I was privileged enough to meet individuals that reignited my fire and made me realize I wasn’t playing enough of a role in closing the opportunity gap in urban areas. So I decided to go the front lines— I became a teacher! 5 years in education means I learned how to implement and create Common Core aligned curriculum and became a data-driven instructor to address the variety of academic gaps and learning styles in my classroom. I managed teachers at varied stages of their career trajectory and supported them in their development to ensure that all 90 students across our grade were reaching their potential. I collaborated with teachers and instructional leaders across the school to ensure a linear scholar journey for our 400 students that supported students academically and socioemotionally and supported teachers in their growth of content knowledge. During my time as an educator, I had one goal: champion for the people around me in anything and everything to make them better because we are all life-long learners. In my next role, I\'m hoping to continue fulfilling that goal but in a different setting. I want to foster cross-collaboration to make various teams better; I want to learn my team members so I can understand how to best support them to reach their goals and I want to master new skills so that I can continue my own development and become a better professional. Whether it\'s at an education organization, a tech company or a start-up, I look forward to transferring all the skills I learned in the classroom to continue fulfilling my goal. Outside of work, I am playing with my new puppy, Milo, watching a bad reality TV show or reading my latest fiction book for bookclub. I\'m a brunch connoisseur and can direct you to any restaurant in the 5 boroughs to spend a lovely weekend (but Brooklyn is my speciality!)
