In my current role as the Clinical and Wellness Manager of the Youth Support Partner Unit (at the Allegheny Department of Health and Human Services), I have worked hard to develop innovative and structured wellness programs that meet the needs of my colleagues. My work is driven by creating positive organizational change and ensuring that my programs and projects are implemented in a way that is both measurable and realistic for such a fast-paced work environment. In addition, I promote staff wellness and I support a trauma-informed workplace by utilizing evidence-based instruments to measure burnout, secondary trauma, and compassion fatigue. With my clinical experience, I assist staff with situations as they arise, often accessing appropriate resources and working to address health, well-being, and possible traumas that may affect them and their work. I aid in identifying appropriate training, consultants, lecturers, tools, etc, to support staff. I also use a race and equity lens while providing psychoeducation regarding diagnostic and clinical issues for the youth and families we serve.Since my employment at DHS, I have been in a leadership role on their racial equity committee. In my role I co-lead, I am responsible for designing, coordinating, and organizing racial equity plans and activities across DHS to reiterate their commitment to racial equity. As a co-lead, I have implemented measurable steps to combat systemic racism, while developing infrastructure where staff and providers feel confident and equipped to weave equity into the very core of the human services fabric utilizing the Government Alliance on Racial Equity’s (GARE) Theory of Change
