As the Community Relations Coordinator for the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, I serve as the Public Information Officer (PIO) for the Office. This role requires a diverse set of skills to lead strategic communication plans, coordinate media relations, and represent the agency throughout the community- One of the main focuses in my position is to disseminate accurate and timely information related to the Sheriff\'s Office in a wide array of scenarios, while always ensuring the mission and goals of the agency are present. In this position I have formed trusting relationships with members of the media, internal staff, outside agencies, law makers, and the greater diverse public to answer inquiries and release information pursuant to State of Minnesota law- In both proactive and reactive situations, I independently author social media content, website content, media advisories, and news releases. I am available within and outside of business hours to respond to and initiate the release of information via phone, email, and in person, regarding Sheriff\'s Office activities and positions on issues- Provide strategic advice and planning to the Sheriff and other leadership regarding public relations and communication. I create, manage, and implement internal communications tools, including newsletters and project collaborations.
