I am a public health research professional specializing in health services research. I have advanced skills in qualitative research methods, including data collection, analysis, and reporting. I’m currently a qualitative analyst at VA, where I’ve been involved in research projects addressing care quality for conditions such as cardiovascular disease and various types of cancers. I work with a multidisciplinary team to execute health services research projects based out of the Durham VA. I assist in research study grant reviews and execution for projects that contain a qualitative research design. Generally, my responsibilities include- assisting in the development and evolution of research questions- developing qualitative interview guides and templates for field notes- conducting qualitative interviews and focus groups- participating in observational/ethnographic research in health and wellness settings- developing codebooks, analytic matrices, and other relevant documents for qualitative analysis- drafting manuscripts for publication- providing insight and support for projects that culminate with an implementation and dissemination componentI work with a diverse set of public health topics across diverse populations, including but not limited to- Women\'s Health- Black/African American Health- Chronic Diseases (heart disease, diabetes, lung cancer)- Mental health and wellness (loneliness/reintegration to civilian life, PTSD)- Palliative careSpecific qualitative research skills and activities in development include-Qualitative Evidence Synthesis-Rapid Qualitative Analysis as a malleable series of methods for qualitative data analysis, particularly for applied research -The use of NVivo (software) as a tool for qualitative data analysis
