WORK HISTORY
Founder and Director @Prajna Yoga
Santa Fe, NM, US
The word Prajna in Sanskrit means Insight, Deep Understanding and Wisdom. It suggests an embodied wisdom, a knowing that permeates the nerve endings, the connective tissues and the blood cells throughout the body.Prajna Yoga is one of the most in-depth, comprehensive and transformational yoga programs available today. We start with the premise that a dedicated yoga practice involves not only physical discipline, but involves a combination of scientific rigor, profound contemplation, developed sensitivity and penetrating practice. Our aim is not to set up a yoga system that churns out students in a specific style or methodology of practice. In this sense our programs are akin to models of higher education; for our aim is to educate not indoctrinate, and to that extent, the Prajna Yoga In Depth Yogic Studies and Practice program offers a rich and varied curricula. The heart of the Prajna practice involves the weave of three main components– asana, anatomy and wisdom.Prajna Yoga makes its home in the foothills of Santa Fe, New Mexico–the home of Tias and Surya Little. After directing local yoga studios for 11 years in the city of Santa Fe, they built a retreat center that provides a serene setting for students to deepen their practice and studies. In 2004, Tias and Surya founded Prajna Yoga in order to integrate yoga discipline with contemplative practice and study. The Prajna studio, handcrafted with the aesthetic of Japanese temple design, is an exquisite facility to support students to explore the healing arts of yoga.
