ABOUT TIARA TURNER

There’s an old photograph in an album tucked away in my parents “Memory Cabinet” - my 1st day at school. All the other kids sat in the 2nd row of tiny, blue desks. I sat by myself in the 3rd. To this day, I don’t know why.By the end of that year, I bagged the general proficiency prize, slowly picked out friends that I now call family and was the youngest person in the school choir. Then I was asked to narrate a play for our annual ‘Speech Day’. The problem was we had not learnt to read yet. So I by-hearted the entire play, word for word. I was 4. More decades have passed than I care to admit but some things have stayed the same. My methods? Unconventional. My non-negotiable? Efficiency. To elucidate, the only thing I hate more than banality is complacency. To keep it simple: give me the time and the trust, I’ll give you the results. And when it comes to what I do:> I write: copy, content, features, etc.> I teach: the piano and music theory> I act: plays, ads, e-commerce modelling (so far)> I create: social media content and solutions.> I sing: and not just in the shower.I won’t bore you with the details of my education, my experience and my accolades. You have my resume and portfolio for that. Here are 5 things those documents won’t tell you: 1> My dream is to use my words and artistry to make a difference, socially and professionally.2> I value mindfulness and consideration above everything else, for people and for projects (in that order).3> I have an unhealthy obsession with making lists and with fries - peri peri to be specific.4> When it comes to ethics and grammar, I’m a stickler for the rules. In other words, definitely not one of the cool kids. 5> My personality is just an amalgamation of all the characters from ‘Full House’.For my students, I believe in empowering over enabling; asking the right questions over spoon feeding answers. It’s a rush watching that light come on in the untapped potential of their intellect and passion, as they put together the puzzle pieces of the bigger picture. For my clients, it’s the opposite. I feel empowered putting together the puzzle pieces of their bigger picture. Here, the rush comes from finding the answers to bring their vision into the world. In both cases, I love the sense of community that comes from my work being interwoven into their story. If we work together, you can expect growth, reliability, receptiveness to feedback and an ample assortment of alliteration. Finally if you’ve made it this far, here’s a stranger on LinkedIn wishing you a great day ahead!
