ABOUT TIAGO LING ALEXANDRE

Software engineer / lead / director with 16+ years of experience working on web (FE and BE), games and mobile applications, both as hands-on contributor and leading.I\'ve worked on different areas such as EdTech, Games Development, Advertisment, Gambling and other B2B Saas enterprise applications on multiple types of industries (automotive, database tools, and currently maritime shipping).I thrive in dynamic organisations, wearing multiple hats and having the autonomy to research, propose and implement solutions to interesting problems. I focus on continuously improving on both hard and soft skills, and my greatest strength is in uniting both technical and communication skills, allowing me to translate between complex technical solution and non-technical stakeholders.I focus on software engineering and programming concepts mostly, allowing me to pick up and use multiple languages in my day-to-day. This allows me to quickly ramp-up in new projects and companies by learning their domain-specific APIs and best-practices first.As a leader, I focus on supporting my teams by mentoring, coaching, and focusing on improving skills like independence, team work, initiative and thoroughness. I also work with them on hard skills, but in my experience these are the \"easy\" part, and a lot of seniors these days have a few gaps in these areas.Technical stuff I am currently doing for fun / learning- Building my \"home lab\" infrastructure. I have 1 Linux, 1 Mac, 1 Windows and 1 Raspberry Pi in my local network, to work on different projects and serve apps to the internet- Working on a WebGPU rendering engine based on wgpu, using C and C++- Working on implementing beginner / intermediate AI papers using PythonNon-technical stuff I care about / enjoy doing- Weight lifting, cycling, being fit and active- Motorbike trips on weekends- Psychology, understanding people better, their motivations and desires
