ABOUT TIA RAYMOND

I am a Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist and Medical Director for Quality and Patient Safety at Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas, Texas. My career has been driven by one goal: to improve survival and recovery for children with congenital and acquired heart disease through collaboration, data science, and relentless pursuit of better resuscitation systems.Over the past two decades, I have helped shape pediatric resuscitation and cardiac critical care nationally through leadership roles with the American Heart Association (AHA), Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Consortium (PC4), and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). I currently serve as Chair of the 2025 AHA Pediatric Basic Life Support Guidelines Writing Group, a member of the AHA 3CPR Leadership Committee, and the PC4 Executive Committee. My work bridges clinical practice, systems improvement, and evidence synthesis — translating registry data and physiologic insights into practical bedside changes. At Medical City Children’s, I lead multidisciplinary efforts to advance quality, safety, and high-reliability care in the Heart Program. I’ve been privileged to mentor future clinicians, direct NIH- and AHA-funded multicenter trials, and collaborate on global guidelines that define the standard for pediatric resuscitation science.I believe the best outcomes arise when clinical precision meets system design. With an MBA in Healthcare Management from the University of Texas at Dallas, I focus on aligning organizational strategy with frontline innovation — from implementing data-driven CPR performance metrics to supporting resilience and teamwork in the CICU.Whether developing national guidelines, mentoring the next generation of physician leaders, or improving care processes for a single patient, my mission remains constant: to create systems where every child has the best possible chance at recovery — and every team member has the tools to make that happen.
