About Tia Harper
California artist. Detroit attitude. I am a conceptual person, a devil\'s advocate and have a dry sense of humor. If I don\'t know how to do something, I will learn it before you need it. I kill my darlings. I fill walls with ideas. I sleep during sunrise. My dog & horse are my life. I have a photographic memory and am ambidextrous. I love delineated file structure. I prefer outside minus bugs. I grew up drawing throughout my travels around the world as an Air Force Brat, and from hobby to profession, I was soon creating advertisements, billboards, and websites for (among others) MGM Grand, Popeye’s Chicken, politicians, POTUS etc, I was born on Travis Air Force Base in California, raised in the Philippines on Clark AFB, slung hay and rode horses through high school in west Michigan and I majored in automotive design, industrial design and received my BFA in Advertising Design in 2006 from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Mi. I apprenticed under master oil painter Andrea Rushing in San Diego, Ca for 13 years. I continue to paint but don’t like doing it for a living.
