About Thwait Hanson
Staff Sergeant with over six years of Army Aviation experience with the maintaining of the Blackhawk Helicopter. This helicopter provides operations with support on the ground, in-the air, and with aeromedical evacuation. These years of experience enables me to repair and install aircraft subsystems assemblies, which includes engines, main rotor head, main/tail rotor, hydraulic pump, transmissions, gearboxes, drive shafts, fuel system, electrical system, hydraulic system, and mechanical flight controls. Also do servicing, lubricating and troubleshooting the aircraft system and any related subsystems. Schedule and unscheduled maintenance will be done, Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI-1/PMI-2) and 48 Months as required. Folding and Unfolding of aircraft to Load and Unload both by Air or Sea. Extensive knowledge on Aircraft Notebooks (ACN), Aircraft Intergrated Data System (AIDS), TMMS-A/MCDS, AMTRACKS, AMCOM (Safety and Maintenance Messages). Quarterly update on Publication and any other related messages to the system to ensure standards are set across and maintenance practice or followed based guidance set out by the Army. Responsibility for Respiratory Protection Program (Personal Protection Equipment) PPE to ensure the proper usage of PPE and standard is held up to maintain a safe environment for Soldiers. Responsibility for Confined Space which means entering a confined space you have to ensure you are wearing the right PPE before entering “safe level” of Oxygen set out by OSHA.

As the Main Rotor Hangar Manager, I coordinate daily maintenance flow, enforce safe rotor stowage procedures, and maintain accountability of all assigned personnel, tools, and equipment. I manage the training environment for four classes per month, overseeing 48–60 students monthly and approximately 576–720 students annually as they progress through UH-60M Helicopter Repairer Course. My responsibilities include continuous collaboration with Air Force maintenance and training personnel to synchronize joint operations, share best practices, and ensure interoperability across services. Through effective scheduling, resource management, and instructor support, I enable high quality training and safe, efficient maintenance operations within the hangar.
