ABOUT THUY NGUYEN

As a driven Pearson Scholar and emerging leader in finance, management, and international business, my journey from high school valedictorian in Vietnam to the University of Toronto has been defined by impactful projects, strategic leadership, and a commitment to social change.Throughout my academic career, I have embraced challenging roles and responsibilities that have allowed me to grow and create meaningful impact. At the University of Toronto, I serve as Director of Sponsorships and Finance for TEDxUofTScarborough, where I connect with industry partners and drive financial strategies to make a community impact through thought-provoking events. Additionally, as a member of the Board of Directors for the Clematis Research Empowerment Hub and Director of Relations at Dialogues at 1265, I work to promote inclusivity, research, and global dialogue within diverse communities.Previously, I interned at Vietcombank, gaining firsthand experience in financial services, and led multiple high-impact initiatives. In high school, I founded \"Độc lạ vocab,\" a nonprofit that has helped thousands of English learners, and raised over 180 million VND to fund scholarships and provide essentials for underprivileged families as part of the Compassionate Tet charity project. My work has been recognized with accolades, including the prestigious Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship, a full-ride award granted to only 37 students worldwide each year. Valued at over CAD this scholarship is awarded for outstanding academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, and a commitment to making a difference in the global community.I\'m eager to leverage my background in finance, social entrepreneurship, and international relations to drive innovation and positive change.
