About Tasadduq Hussain
Growing up in the 80’s, my fascination in the RF/Microwave arena developed when my parents brought home our first cordless telephone. I was madly curious of how our talking and listening could happen invisibly over just thin air. Fast forward a few decades, and I am lucky enough to have designed & built RF hardware for various applications spanning from high resolution remote sensing Ku-Band radars, a novel S-Band receiver the size of a stick of gum for a MicroUAV application, and Ka-Band satellite receivers currently orbiting our planet.Throughout this journey, I have learnt repeatedly how valuable it is to go thru the trials and tribulations of taking a product from a paper concept to a final built assembly alongside a passionate & eager multi-disciplinary team in search of creative solutions.
Experience
Sr Rf Hardware Engineer
Sep 2014 — Present · Boston, MA, US
Airborne Radar Systems & Techniques- Led the design, development, and testing of a novel small form factor S-Band Receiver for a Micro UAV application within design, cost and schedule constraints- Lead RF Engineer, tasked to design and fabricate a 10GHz BW Up & Downconverters for a shoebox sized 60GHz V-Band radar prototype- Performed RF system modeling, PCB schematic entry & layout design, prototype building and campaign testing at field sites- Derived end-to-end system level cascade analysis including linearity, gain compression, and frequency spurious planning using simulation tools such as ADS and Genesys- Conceived a unique dual X/Ku band integrated 2Ch Up & Downconverter onto a single 3U VPX card- Engaged closely with cross-functional teams that includes Antenna designers, FPGA designers, and Mechanical and Systems Engineers- Lead RF Engineer, directly involved with planning, designing, integrating, and delivering to volume manufacturing Ku-Band Downconverters and Upconverters for an Airborne Radar Test Bed platform- Supported rapid prototyping manufacturing team with integration as well as problem identification and hands-on troubleshooting- Presented a number of seminar talks and active involvement in recruiting efforts & on-site interviews.
