As Principal Specialist Sourcing Software I’m in charge of strategic locating and maintaining the best sources of supply for the software components and services e.solution needs. While purchasing managers have traditionally focused on finding the lowest-cost suppliers, strategic purchasing consider all aspects of their relationship with suppliers, including quality, value and the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements. I aim to select suppliers that can act as long-term partners and help the company meet its growth objectives.With my good analytical abilities I assess the performance of suppliers against criteria such as quality, cost, reliability, ability to innovate and financial stability. I use my financial skills to assess the total cost of dealing with a supplier, including price and factors such as the costs of delivery, administration quality control and inventory. I’m constantly approving my good interpersonal and negotiating skills to build effective working relationships with supply partners.
