About Ryan Thorpe

I am a second-year law student (\"2L\") at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Currently, I am building on top of a strong foundation of legal knowledge and excelling at legal research and writing. I am interested in the areas of general commercial litigation, business law, and other fields. I am interning at the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida as a Judicial Intern. This experience allows me to sharpen both my hard and soft skills as a legal researcher and writer. I also am excited about continuing to hone my legal writing skills as a member of the Florida Law Review during my second year. To cap off my first-year, I was elected as the President of the Association for Law and Business (\"ALB\"). The ALB is an on-campus student-run organization that strives to educate students on emerging business law issues and acclimate students to the field. During my undergraduate years at Florida State University, I took on diverse leadership roles, including serving as a Student Government Association Senator. I also held the position of Chaplain and Vice President at Sigma Phi Epsilon, Florida Epsilon chapter. I also contributed to my University as a Board of Trustees member for the Student Foundation, amongst other roles. As a Senator on the budget committee, I played a role in crafting a nearly budget allocation, ensuring the equitable distribution of funds to campus resources and organizations. Additionally, I actively participated in legislative decisions within the chambers. In my capacities as Vice President and Trustee, I collaborated in fundraising efforts, successfully raising six-figure sums in each role for charitable organizations and vital university funding initiatives. In my professional journey, I had the opportunity to work alongside accomplished attorneys at Friedman & Abrahamsen, where I gained valuable insights into criminal defense, employment law, and various other legal services. I began a foundation of legal research and knowledge under the supervision of Tor Friedman, Esq. My time with Floridian Partners afforded me a unique political perspective on the legal process. This experience illustrated the life cycle of a bill in the Florida legislature, located in the state capitol of Tallahassee. These experiences have fueled my passion for pursuing legal studies. I am excited about the journey ahead and the potential to make a meaningful impact on the world through the power of law. Connect with me on LinkedIn to learn more about my journey and to talk about how we can work together.
