About Thom Cahir

After years of using the communications skills I learned in a newspaper newsroom, and the knowledge gained from a graduate degree in labor relations/HR and put to use advocating for workers, I have found the perfect niche that combines my skills to help others in a time of need. Workforce development has me working directly with participants to hone skills, meeting employers who have specific needs, and connecting with non-profit leaders to help connect with anyone who might have fallen through the cracks of the social safety net. So if you\'re an employer with staffing needs, contact me; someone out of work, ask about our program; and if you work somewhere that serves a community of people that may have members who are out of work, please get in touch. And, while I\'m primarily focused on helping others find jobs now, I still consult on human resources issues and in the fields of public and media relations, especially for political and non-profit fundraising campaigns. In my spare time I still contribute to various publications on a variety of topics.
