Recent responsibilities included oversight of the Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring for the Kentucky Lock expansion, design and implementation of a Distributed Strain and Temperature monitoring system for the West Seattle High Bridge. Recent major instrumentation and monitoring projects have included Tappan Zee Bridge SHMS, Crenshaw/LAX Metro LRT, Huey P. Long Bridge Widening and the Craney Island expansion project. Over 40 years experience with SHMS design for Bridges, Stadiums, Buildings, Wind Towers and other unique structures as well as large scale component testing using static and dynamic loading frames for the rail and transportation industry in a structural laboratory environment. Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring for Dams, Tunnels, Pipelines, Excavations and forensic investigations. Full size stay cable acceptance testing for more than 10 Bridge projects throughout the world. Fiber optic sensor design and applications for Bridges and Geosynthetics Pavement Sensor Design, Fabrication and Installation training for leading accelerated pavement testing facilities and research institutions in the US and several countries throughout the world. Project Engineer for Major Forensic Investigations for building facades, PCCP pipe failures, bridge collapses, building evaluations and other structural component failures.
