ABOUT THOMAS EMILIO NAVARRO SENS

My areas of interest are mainly focused on agricultural biotechnology. My experiences in the field initiated with small internships such as assistant laboratory technician for the organogenesis and embryogenesis laboratories at NSIP, Mexico, focusing on crops such as coffee, agave, and plantain. I then worked full time as a laboratory technician in the areas of molecular biology and plant pathology for Norwich-based company Tropic (UK), which is dedicated to improve tropical crops such as banana, coffee, and rice. I am now pursuing a PhD in novel plant breeding aiming to improve quality and nutritional traits potato tubers. My scientific technical skills revolve around molecular biology techniques, tissue culture, and recently developping myself in the area og bioinformatics. I am an internationally minded person, social and outgoing, with good communication skills and a sense of leadership.
