ABOUT THOMAS MATTHEWS

I have had a passion for testing ever since my student placement year as a Business Analyst, where I showed a natural flair for testing, and this led to me joining the Software Testing stream at the FDM Group Academy following my graduation. Whilst working for FDM Group I’ve spent over 4 years on site at both Barclays and HSBC, specialising in mobile and web based testing and design, experiencing both agile and waterfall ways of working. I pride myself on always striving to improve processes and ways of working, with several of my ideas now implemented as part of the HSBC testing process. For the past 2 years, I’ve been leading teams of testers across multiple projects, including a flagship global platform project, involving working with stakeholders in multiple countries. My ambitions are to develop my knowledge of testing processes, specifically use of new technologies and tools, and progress from leading the testing of projects to becoming a Test Manager.Outside of my professional life, my biggest passion is Football. I play 5-a-side weekly, and I love following the team I support both home and away. My other passion is music, I have been playing guitar since 2006, and I spend a lot of my spare time playing. Other than that, I enjoy socialising with friends and family, I\'m a regular cinema goer, and enjoy to cook.
