ABOUT THOMAS MATHAI
Thomas Mathai has been practicing Marriage and Family Therapy since 2005. He is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP), a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT) and a Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). He is also a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and Ontario Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (OAMFT). He majors in the area of relationships, personality development, depression and anxiety, addictions, trauma, grief and anger issues. He employs Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Rogerian Therapy to increase clients’ awareness (of themselves and their issues). Thomas engages with his clients and encourages them to seek solutions to their own presenting issues and empowers them to execute those solutions. 25 years of international industrial and management experience has equipped him to better understand and appreciate the social and cultural challenges faced by the diverse population of the Greater Toronto Area. He holds a degree in Engineering, post graduate diploma in International Management, a Master of Divinity degree (McMaster) and a Certificate in Couple and Family Therapy (Guelph).
