ABOUT THOMAS MACGOWAN
I have nearly 10-years of experience in the tunnelling sector specializing in the geotechnical and structural design of tunnels, including sprayed concrete linings, cast in-situ linings, segmental linings, geological interpretation, ground movement assessment and a broad range of temporary works. My design experience is augmented by 2.5-years on site giving me a thorough understanding of the underground construction process and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of personnel. I am fully committed to technical excellence, consistently delivering value-driven solutions for clients and supporting safe, efficient outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.In 2016 I graduated with Distinction from a postgraduate degree in Tunnelling and Underground Space Engineering from Warwick University. Prior to this, I obtained a first-class undergraduate degree in Geological Engineering in which I studied many subjects relevant to tunnelling including; earth processes, site investigation, structural geology, geotechnics, rock mechanics, and numerical modelling for underground space. I am a chartered member of ICE.
