ABOUT THOMAS RALPH

My personal goal and mission statement is \"helping other people to do more\" — through coaching, mentoring, training, and being available for others. I want to put my skills in presentation, communication, and facilitation to good use in my career as well as my hobbies and personal life.This approach helps me to bridge the gap between technical topics, business people, leaders, and the implementers such as IT and consultants. I can break down highly technical topics such as banking regulation or the back-end of a risk management system and give the right information at the right level to the recipient. This is equally true at board committee/executive meetings, project steering groups, and one to one explaining how to get the job done.I\'ve gained most of my experience in the field of treasury risk management. I have experience in both industry and consulting. My top achievements include my work in setting up the ALM/Treasury Risk functions at TSB and Metro Bank. I\'ve developed ILAAP and ICAAP documents. And I\'ve trained and developed the people who are to take up the mantle after me.I am a regular conference speaker and panellist in Treasury Risk and allied topics.I have written and facilitated a range of technical and soft-skills courses, both internal and for clients. I mentor a number of people both inside and outside professional connections to help them to succeed in the way they want to do.Outside work, I enjoy refereeing tag-rugby, playing and judging the Magic: The Gathering collectible card game, and travelling the world.
