About Thomas S. John

I am an intellectual property lawyer and a U.S. patent attorney. I was born and raised in Singapore and am culturally agile, having worked and studied in Singapore, Germany, and the United States.I entered the patent profession in 2011. I earned my Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University and my law degree from Southern Methodist University. My legal practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, global portfolio management, and strategic client counseling.I am technically nimble and have prepared and prosecuted patents in a variety of technical fields, including- semiconductor process technology- machine learning and artificial intelligence- wireless communications technologies (Wi-Fi, 5G, 6G)- image signal processing- medical imaging (MRI, fMRI, CT)- statistical, analog, digital, and mixed signal processing - digital and analog circuits and devicesI\'m admitted to practice in the State of Texas and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.Outside of work, I enjoy wandering (and jogging) through nature and learning how to live more purposefully.
