Thomas J. Cooney MBA, ARM, is currently serving as Vice President, Healthcare/Life Science for CRC. In his role as a Healthcare Business Leader, Thomas’ responsibilities include medical professional liability product development, departmental strategy, risk consulting, and broker management for commercial liability portfolio consulting in the hospital, doctor, and healthcare facility market. Through his distribution network, he works with healthcare liability professionals to develop individually tailored risk retention and transfer programs; consults on alternative risk transfer products and places a specialized focus on providing risk management solutions. He helped found HLP, an independent healthcare consultancy, led at Marsh\'s Global Healthcare Division and was also formally recognized three consecutive years as the number one producer nationally at AON’s Affinity Healthcare division. While serving as a production underwriter at Philadelphia Insurance Company in NYC, he received recognition for producing more business faster than any of his predecessors. In order to finance his education while completing his bachelor’s degree, Mr. Cooney started a hardscaping construction company from the ground up which familiarized him with a mission orientation, team coordination, and entrepreneurial spirit. Thomas’ proven leadership and business development experience includes an extensive underwriting background specializing in complex risk solutions for healthcare facilities, physician groups and institutions. Mr. Cooney completed his masters program,(MBA), Summa Cum Laude, December 2012. He began his insurance career in \'04 after graduating from Temple University’s top ranked Risk Management & Insurance program. He finished in the top percentile of his class with a focus on Property and Casualty and an emphasis on Healthcare Risk Management. He has also earned the professional risk management designation of ARM.Thomas is licensed for Surplus Lines, Property and Casualty plus Life and Health insurance in all fifty states and has been marketing these products on a national platform his entire career.
