ABOUT THOMAS HORVATH
I have been a member of the PineStone Global Equity team since its origin at Fiera Capital in 2009. We believe in running highly concentrated, long-only funds built using \"bottom-up\" research. We focus on a few very high quality companies that produce a high and consistent Return on Invested Capital (ROIC). Our companies typically exhibit a very strong moat around their businesses and tend to master a certain competitive edge that gives them very high barriers to entry. Managers of those companies not only excel at running their businesses very well, but also at allocating their capital in a most effective manner in order to maximize the ROIC of the business. Once we find those businesses we tend to hold them for very long periods. Our average holding period in the fund is about 10 years. We manage over $50 Billion in Global equity assets, split into 3 strategies: a US Equity strategy, an International Equity strategy and a Global Equity strategy. The later combines best ideas from both the US and the International strategies. We typically hold between 25-35 companies by strategy.
