About Tom Dalik

A little about me. First, I\'m from New Jersey. I know, insert jokes here. Really it was a cool place to grow up - close to NYC, the shore, the Poconos, and Philly - you are close to everything. Plus, they have WaWa! But I\'ve been in the Carolinas almost as long now and have found a home in Durham, NC. Second, I am a die hard sports fan of the Yankees, NY Rangers, Duke, and the Dallas Cowboys (yep, my uncle was in the Navy with Roger Staubach and been a fan since I was 6 - it\'s not easy these days).Third, I like change - except for coins. If I ever run for political office (not a chance) that would be my slogan \"I\'m for change, but not for coins.\" Unlike most people, change is not upsetting or chaotic to me, I thrive in it. Perhaps connected, I like to travel. I lived in Sofia, Bulgaria for a year in 1993-94 and have been to almost as many countries as I have been to states (20ish of each). I love to travel with my wife and two children, Ted and Tyler. Family vacations and experiences are a top priority in our lives.I have an Electronics Engineering degree, but realized that I enjoy talking to people way too much to be an engineer. So I got a Masters in Leadership and have worked many years in the people business - non-profits and government human services and healthcare positions. I\'ve pursued a career change that lets me do both. I work at ShareFile (formerly part of Citrix, now part of Progress Software) in Raleigh. I get to talk with people all day long and help them find cloud computing technology and SaaS solutions that help them share information, streamline workflows, and effectively collaborate in a simple and secure way - and I am loving it! It is a great place to work, it is a very fun environment, and I am growing each day as a person and a professional. ShareFile truly wants to make the world a better place and we are constantly encouraged to volunteer and make a difference in places that are near to our hearts.
