About Tom Cappello

I started my career as an auditor after graduating with an accounting degree. I served as an external auditor for a minority CPA firm handling governmental entities in the State of Ohio. The next step in my career began when I become an internal auditor for a publicly traded insurance company. This role helped build my skills in internal controls and SOX compliance. Six years later, I joined Sherwin Williams to be a part of their financial internal audit team. I used my prior auditing experience to make a seamless transition to a much larger business environment. After a year and a half in this role, I made a career change into the world of information technology. I became a data integrity analyst to ensure complete and accurate data was deployed to the production environment. A leadership role became available in the data quality assurance team. I was chosen to be the supervisor of data quality assurance leading a team of two data analysts. Two years later another leadership opportunity came to me when I was asked to manage both quality assurance and production support. I became an IT Manager to take the next step in my career. It forced me to leave my comfort zone as an individual contributor and be responsible for the team\'s overall success. I currently oversee a global support and quality assurance team of 25 responsible for Enterprise Data applications consisting of MicroStrategy, Tableau, Business Objects and OBIEE.
