ABOUT THOMAS BEALE
I am currently acting Head of Department for Design and Technology, based in the south-east of England, having completed my ECT years. I am a competent, enthusiastic and creative person who strives to work hard in my fields of interest. I have also previously taught Mathematics and Computer Science.My two main passions are education and sustainability, and although these are often in different fields, I think a combination of these is vital for the future of our society. Throughout my undergraduate degree studying Architecture at the Manchester School of Architecture, I have focused on developing an understanding of environmental construction, as well as new and innovative methods of sustainability within design. In education, after completing a degree which combines scientific and technological based learning and creative thinking, I am looking into fields which aid in the teaching of environmental technology as well as design.I have begun my MA in Character Education part time with the University of Birmingham\'s Jubilee Centre for Character and Flourishing. I aim to explore ways in which to best educate young people in this area, as well as understanding how character and virtue impacts both individuals and society.
