Founder and CEO @Energynautics
Energynautics is a power systems consultancy firm based in Germany. Since its foundation in by Dr. Thomas Ackermann, Energynautics has been involved in numerous research and consulting projects related to innovative grid design, optimization and power system integration of renewable energies for governments, electricity network operators, regulators, manufacturers and investors. Especially the grid integration of renewables is the core business of Energynautics. Variable renewable energy (VRE) integration into power systems: With a team of consultants who boast a strong academic and research background, the company offers deep expertise in the economic and technical modelling, design, simulation and analysis of power systems on the transmission and distribution level to conduct grid integration studies for RE and model the possible implementation of solutions. Electricity Generation Expansion Planning: Through different projects the company has gained significant experience with electricity generation expansion plans over the past years. Software Expertise: Energynautics is expert user many commercial and open-source software for energy system optimization and power system analysis. This includes:• Energy system optimization software such as PLEXOS and PyPSA.• Power system analysis software such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E and ETAP.• Microgrid and hybrid power system optimization software such as HOMER Energy Pro.• GIS analysis software such as QGIS.Capacity building: In parallel, the involvement of Energynautics has been visible in the international arena for discussions on power systems and renewables integration prominently through activities involved by CEOs Dr. Thomas Ackermann and Dr. Eckehard Tröster.
