About Thomas Wolf

I am the Chemical Sciences Department head within the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS), SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and the PI of the Excited States in Isolated Molecules group within the Stanford PULSE Institute. My research focuses on the investigation of photochemical dynamics of isolated organic molecules with novel experimental tools such as short X-ray and electron pulses. I received my master\'s degree in Chemistry from University of Karlsruhe, Germany, in 2009. In 2012, I finished my PhD degree in Physical Chemistry at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. After a postdoctoral stay at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, I joined the Gühr research group as a postdoc at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in 2013. I have been working as a PI within the Stanford PULSE Institute since 2016. In 2021, I became Chemical Sciences Department head at LCLS.
