About Thomas Tommy Wagner

I\'m Thomas Wagner, an aspiring Software Developer, and well rounded university student and rugby player.Since I was little I was always intrigued by computer science and everything we could accomplish with it. That passion is what got me into starting my computer science journey back in high school. In my first years of coding I learned the principals of different core concepts and languages. From Object Orientation, iterative programming, app development, mathematical modelling, to HTML I was exposed to many different software development foundations throughout high school. During my initial education, I got to participate in a groundbreaking project with Google Cloud for BioMedBert. During this process I got the opportunity to edit the paper published to COLING 2021 and meet directly with clientele and record their perspectives.Now that I am deep into my computer science degree at UNSW, I\'ve been able to thoroughly expand my expertise in object orientation, data structures, algorithms, iterative and concurrent programming, as well as beginning my foundations in Artificial intelligence. While receiving this incredible classroom experience I got an opportunity to further my industry experience and insights at Fuse Integration, over my first university summer to show my up front how what I will learn is applied to industry products.As I approach the twilight of my university career I\'m excited to begin my time at InterSystems Sydney over the summer to put my education into application. The remainder of my degree will be focused entirely on my major focus of artificial intelligence. Throughout my degree I have been given the opportunity to explore a minor degree in Finance. This gave me the foundations to blend my to academic passions of finance and computer science on my own time and hopefully beyond. As an avid rugby player, I\'ve had the honor and privilege to wear a long list of different jerseys around the world as a player, captain, and manager. Playing rugby for the past 14 years has taught me invaluable lessons about life, leadership, and teamwork that I hope I can bring to the industry I am passionate about.
