ABOUT THOMAS V. GRASSO

I got my start in the environmental movement as a public interest environmental lawyer and spent time in Washington DC walking the halls of Congress advocating on things like renewable energy tax incentives, climate change, energy and transportation policies. I escaped the Washington policy arena to work on a host of environmental issues affecting the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. The issues included agriculture runoff, fisheries management, air and water quality, wetlands protection, local land use planning and brownfields redevelopment. The bulk of my life\'s work has been in the field of international ocean conservation, sustainable development, climate change and global food systems reform. I\'ve worked across north America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and Latin America meeting many amazing and inspiring people.I\'ve had the privilege of working with colleagues from across the globe and with partners in the private sector, governments, international and multilateral organizations, civil society organizations, farmer and fishers and frontline communities.I have led multinational, interdisciplinary teams, developed global partnerships and built effective conservation and sustainable development programs and policies.I\'ve designed curriculum for and taught graduate school courses in both law school and business management administration school.“Action on behalf of life transforms.
