About Thomas Tierney

I am a graduate from the University of Kentucky. I received my B.A. in psychology, where my primary studies focused on comparative cognition with animals and neuropsychology. Prior to graduate school, I worked part-time for the Louisville Fish Company, which specializes in fish distribution and caviar production. In July of 2017, I obtained my M.S. degree in Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences at Kentucky State University. My research focused on inland marine shrimp production (Litopenaeus vannamei) through the use of recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS). I was the VP of QA/R&D at Northern Pelagic Group (NORPEL), located in New Bedford, MA until October 2024. It was my responsibility to oversee all of our facilities food safety plans and product testing. I recently joined Shelby-SPS in 2024 as the VP of Ops/R&D. I oversee all operational dynamics for our customer programs, and I manage all new product testing programs.
