The demand for secure payment solutions is steadily growing. Smartcards with intelligent user interfaces may provide solutions for secure authentication. I am heading an enthusiastic team of creative people inventing and realizing the required system components. Our ambitious goal is to present contactless smartcards with intuitive authentication interfaces that may fulfill requirements such as performance, simplicity, lowest production cost, lowest cost of ownership, improved security and long lifetime.We cooperate with global players in the fields of research, technology innovation, system-in-package module manufacturing, micro-assembly, reel-to-reel processing and smartcard manufacturing.Our latest smartcard innovation is a fully contactless chipcard system for embedded secure fingerprint authentication. Innovation focus is on low-cost capacitive fingerprint sensors, feature extraction on low-power devices, secure matching inside secure elements and provision of matching results to standard payment applets.Other innovation areas comprize capacitive touch sensing on low power MCUs for user-dependent gesture recognition, PIN entry and matching. Our smartcard with touchpad for handwritten PIN entry was among the three finalists competing at Cartes 2011 for the SESAME innovation award in the cathegory TRUSTED INTERNET / AUTHENTICATION.
