Thomas is employed by Proudfoot as the global Director of Asset and Maintenance Operations, based in Toronto, Canada. He first began his consulting career with Proudfoot in 1989 as an Implementation Specialist where he worked on several operational improvement projects in mining, oil & gas and manufacturing until leaving in 1994 to work as a contractor for Placer Dome Mine. Thomas rejoined Proudfoot in June 2014.From 1994 to 1996, Thomas worked independently for three Placer mine sites across Canada providing maintenance consulting services. From 1996 to 1997, Thomas worked for Carpedia and then 1997 to 2010 with two of the big four consulting firms, PwC and IBM in their maintenance center of excellence practices. Thomas gained significant maintenance experience as he worked internationally on several PwC and IBM maintenance process and system improvement projects. In 2010, Thomas went as an independent maintenance consultant in the Fort McMurray, Alberta oil sands providing two years consulting services for Shell Albian Sands. During this time, Thomas also provided some maintenance consulting services to Suncor Energy in their mobile maintenance fleet. In 2012, Thomas joined PwC\'s new global maintenance practice as a Manager until rejoining Proudfoot in 2014.
