ABOUT THOMAS OGDEN

I have worked in the water industry on waste water networks for over 10 years. In this time I have worked my way up from a technician investigating problems on the network affecting customers and the environment through several engineering roles before joining the innovation team in 2020.I have a problem solving analytical mindset that helps me to fully understand problems and come up with alternative solutions to solve these. I look outside of the water industry to bring in alternative ways of doing things to help make us more efficient and am keen to work together with other people in the industry to share best practice and solutions. I specialise in the area of waste water smart networks and am currently running a large scale trial in the Yorkshire. This is bringing together survey techniques, sewer network monitors, water quality monitors and AI analytics to help us better understand our network and its performance preventing flooding, pollution and spills.
