   In my current role as a Transport Associate at St. Mary’s Athens Hospital System, I maintain a demanding weekend schedule from 8 AM to 8 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, supplemented by three four-hour evening shifts each week, totaling 36 hours dedicated to patient care and logistical support. Utilizing Epic Rover to receive and manage transport assignments, I review critical patient information—height, weight, mobility status, and isolation precautions—and coordinate directly with nurses via the Voalte One secure communication platform. Whether moving patients by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed, I ensure seamless handoffs by obtaining chart or paper sign-offs and delivering them to the appropriate floor personnel, thereby upholding continuity of care. My familiarity with the hospital’s seven-floor layout, keycard access, and elevator controls enables me to navigate efficiently between nearly units within the hospital—transporting patients from the ICU to imaging for CT scans, ED to floor, facilitating discharges, retrieving specimens, delivering code carts, and even honoring dignified protocols for moves to the morgue—always with a focus on patient safety and dignity.Working in a clinical environment that prioritizes infection control, I have adhered rigorously to PPE protocols, donning gloves, N-95 masks, and powered air-purifying respirators (PAPRs) when transporting droplet- or airborne-isolated patients such as those with tuberculosis. I also assure telemetry equipment is adjusted correctly in collaboration with nurses to maintain continuous monitoring during transfers, demonstrating my technical competence and attention to detail.
