About Thomas Nilsson
As a highly experienced director, I have developed large organizations and systems to successfully deliver major projects in several international markets. My project experience range from major infrastructure projects in Europe, Asia and US, rehabilitation project of landmark bridges in New York and San Francisco to managing the complex steel fabrication of the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge in Shanghai, China. In order to execute these jobs, I had to source material, personnel and subcontractors from several markets through a wide variety of methods and had to create new delivery mechanisms since there were no previous precedents. During the execution phases, I had to set up two new regional branches capable of operating independent in the different environments. The skills range wide from Marine Construction, Deep Marine Foundations, Pier and Tower Construction (both in Steel and Concrete), Concrete Decks, Steel Fabrication and Construction to Rehabilitation and Seismic Construction of Bridges, Intelligent Transportation Systems and Railroad Construction. I have significant contractual management experience with different contract forms such as Design Build Operate Maintain, Design Build and General Contracting and have expert experience in claims development and mitigation. For several projects, I had to create new quality systems that are now used throughout the companies that I worked for. The safety records for these projects have always been better than the industry average. During my career I have worked in both large public companies as well as privately owned companies and have worked in joint ventures with major international companies in the construction industry.
