Guiding the growth and development of native woodland creation charity \'Moor Trees\'. The charity is committed to seeing more native trees on Dartmoor and more widely. Moor Trees works with the local community and partner organisations to encourage the establishment and expansion of native woodland in Devon and more widely. With the support of volunteers the charity collects local provenance native tree seed, growing these on to saplings within two south community tree nurseries for inclusion in native woodland planting schemes across Devon. Moor Trees assists landowners in designing native woodland schemes and navigating the woodland grant system. The charity is also developing a citizen science initiative to monitor the impacts of woodland establishment on wildlife and ecosystem services including: carbon sequestration, biodiversity, and natural flood management.
