ABOUT THOMAS MCADAM
Chartered Accountant with experience in Practice and in Industry.Qualified AAT during my time at Pearson Bone & Company in Largs between 1990 & 1994.Trained and qualified as a CA at PKF, Glasgow and was there for 8.5 years from 1994 to 2003. I spent 1.5 years post qualified in the Corporate Advisory/Corporate Finance department as a Corporate Finance Senior.I relocated to Bermuda to work for the Davisons of Bermuda Group as Assistant Financial Controller, I was promoted to Financial Controller after 4 months and Group Financial Controller after 1 year, at the end of my work permit in 2005 I relocated back to Scotland.For the next year and a half I was in temporary contracts with Gilchrist & Co (Chartered Accountant), John Dewar & Sons (Financial Accountant) and the Artto Hotel (Group Financial Controller).In October 2006 I moved to Stevenson & Kyles in a role earmarked long term for partner succession and supervised and helped to train new CA students.In June 2013 I started my own accountancy business, THM Accountancy Ltd. I also did contract work with accountancy firms. Attracted more than 150 new clients within six months through direct marketing.In July 2014 I joined AD+ Chartered Accountants as Senior Manager for Production, overseeing the accounts production element for the firm which is completely focused on service for their clients.In July 2016 I joined the Small Business Accounting department at KPMG Glasgow as a Team Leader.At the end of April 2019, I relocated to being an Assistant Manager at Corporate Tax at the KPMG Tax Centre of Excellence in Glasgow.In mid 2020, I moved to the Tax Technology and Innovation department. Initially working with the Consulting and Delivery Management team and then moving to the Product team in mid 2023.
