About Thomas Mann

I am a postdoctoral researcher in Susan Kaech\'s lab at the Salk Institute, with 10+ years of experience in academic research labs. My current research is on understanding the molecular signals that govern CD8 T cell exhaustion differentiation during cancer, and how this molecular circuitry can be reprogrammed therapeutically. Broadly, my research interests are in cell signaling and how signaling proteins regulate differentiation and cell fate commitment. Before the Kaech lab, I did my PhD in Biochemistry in Lucy Shapiro\'s lab at Stanford University, where I investigated the roles of cell fate-regulating kinases through biochemical reconstitution.
