Responsible for- Day-to-day coordinating of Engineering Logs, ensuring engineers are completing Preventative Maintenance procedures and completing work requests- Leading the team in resolving unplanned breakdowns in a variant of disciplines; mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and controls- Proficient in electrical cabinet fault-finding; safety relays, contactor coils, incoming power filters, power supplies, plc interrogation, servo drive installation and parameterisation to name a few- Conducting root cause analysis with the engineers utilizing Nishikawa diagrams, following up all Interim & Permanent Corrective Actions to ensure the same breakdown doesn’t occur again- Completing obsolescence studies across all plant equipment, particularly, ageing drives, servos & motors to minimise downtime in the event of a critical failure- Managing Capital Expenditure projects for a £2million coil processing line, automated spot welder, flying shear & 200tonne power presses up to £1million from creating initial gate reviews, functional design specifications to Design, Validation & Verification for Site Acceptance Testing and final sign off- Implementing a CMMS (MaintainX) from the ground up to both formalise & digitise all engineering processes. Enabling greater control of asset reliability through CBM, PPM, TPM, and RCM following the rapid expansion of the business and reaching the end peak of the ‘bath tub curve’- Continuous Improvement; Engineering the continuous and step change improvement of all element’s product quality, plant availability, productivity, and business process effectiveness- Quality, Health & Safety, & Environment; Promote culture of improvement in QHSE through compliance, incident investigation, risk-based management, delegated ownership & involvement, audit & review, challenge & develop, and open communication. Contractor management forms a significant responsibility of this role.
