ABOUT THOMAS KIMPFBECK
Thomas studied electronics and information technology at the University of Applied Sciences Rosenheim. He gained experience in the field of communication electronics, especially mobile communication, at Kathrein Indochina Co. Ltd, Rosenberger Hochfrequenztechnik GmbH & Co. KG and Siemens AG.He started his IP career in a renowed Munich IP law firm and has been active in Intellectual Property for more than 15 years.In 2011, he founded the today’s law firm KIMPFBECK where he practices as a German Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney, European Trademark Attorney, European Design Attorney and via 2005/36/EC recognitions temporarily and occasionaly before the IP authorities in Malta, Ireland, Belgium and Austria. Moreover, from 2014 to 2022 he has been teaching patent law at the Université de Strasbourg and since 2021 he is a member of the Examination Committee EC I for the European Qualification Exam (EQE). Since 2023 he is registered as European Patent Litigator at the Unified Patent Court.Since 2011, Thomas is with an international electronics group in Munich, Germany. There, he is leading a team of in-house IP counsels.In 2021, he represented Rohde & Schwarz in the landmark case G 1/21 before the Enlarged Board of Appeal.Thomas\' strengths are: hands-on legal advice, cooperative leadership style and strong technical knowledge.He is knowledgeable in the following technical fields- electrical engineering- telecommunications- measurement instruments- electric vehicles, battery electronics, charging post electronics- mechanical engineering- agricultural machinery
