WORK HISTORY
Sr Geomechanics Engineers @Energy & Environmental Research Center
Comprehensive geomechanical modeling (pore pressure & fracture gradient (PPFG), 1D/3D/4D MEMs) for Williston Basin and fault/fracture stability analyses were conducted for multiple CCUS projects, including Summit Carbon Solutions, CarbonSAFE, PCOR, the North Dakota Salt Cavern, and the Basin Electric Carbon Storage Research Project.Detail duties:• Develop PPFG (pore pressure and fracture gradient) and construct pre-drill and post-drill 1D, 3D, and 4D MEMs (Visage simulation) to evaluate pore pressure, in-situ stresses, and rock deformation.• Conduct Geomechanical modeling (Visage) of fluid injection (water, CO2) by coupling geomechanics with reservoir simulators (Eclipse and Intersect)• Investigate seismicity or surface heave (uplifts) associated with injection projects• Model induced seismicity using statistical (FSP) and physics-based methods (MohrFrac, Discontinuity Stability Analysis) and Conduct fault and fracture stability assessments• Provide PPFG/geomechanical support for drilling operations associated with Class VI permit wells.• Conduct mechanical stratigraphic studies to characterize regional mechanical properties of the Williston Basin, integrate rock physics from seismic data, and develop correlations for converting dynamic properties to static properties.• Perform Mini-Frac analyses for Class VI permit wells.• Apply comprehensive stress analyses to evaluate containment assurance, caprock integrity, geomechanical hazards, and induced seismicity.• Review laboratory-derived geomechanical properties.• Prepare Class VI permit applications for CO2 injection.
